Meals for Neighbors in Need
December 3, 2017 @ 1:30 pm
We will prepare 150 sack lunches and drop them off at the Interfaith Community Services’ homeless shelter in Escondido. By delivering these lunches we are helping individuals and families in their efforts towards self-sufficiency.
In partnering with other organization in San Diego, we can work towards providing a positive lasting change to the homeless population. All you need to do is show up at MCC. ? Anybody and everybody is welcome.
How can you participate?
1] Donate money for this program by writing a check to MCC with “feeding our homeless” written on it
2] Bring some of the food items by signing up here: http://bit.ly/feeding-our-homeless
3] Help in preparing the food packets at our monthly event (simply show up at MCC)
4] Help in transporting the food packets to the homeless shelter by signing up here: http://bit.ly/feeding-our-homeless
5] By participating, you can also get community service credits.

“And they are those who give food – in spite of their own need , to the needy, and the orphan, and the captive, [saying in their hearts], ‘We only feed you for the sake of God, and we desire nothing in return from you, not even a word of thanks.’’” (QUR’AN 76:8-9).

Did you know that San Diego’s homeless population is the 4th largest in the US, after Seattle, Los Angeles, and New York City? According to the HUD, there are 8,742 homeless persons in San Diego.
MCC is trying to do its bit to help out by arranging an event every month to feed our homeless community members!
